business talk

Ann told me last night that she feels like we talk about nothing but business; making money, getting on top, networking, etc. It's become a sad and true reality!!! What have I become? A couple years back, I remember focusing on well-being; relinquishing worldly desires and possessions and focusing on health, community, knowledge, nature, peace, love, and spirituality. now, I get all amped on starting random networking sites on the internet.

I hope that I can get myself back to a better state of mind. I'm coming to the conclusion that becoming a professional kills your soul. Focusing on money kills your soul. Marketing and networking kills your soul. These things dehumanize a person; causing him or her to equate business with a sense purpose and meaning. I do not think this should be the case. This mentality will breed very selfish and egocentric individuals.

I think we need to start focusing on each other to find meaning. We need to connect with one another and focus on things that connect us as people; bringing together young and old, rich and poor, black and white, men and women, people of different religious affiliations, the educated and the uneducated, etc. We need to started depending on one another rather than a system that does not care who we are, where we're from, and what we love.
